[Also in Division G6] Powdered nuclear fuel material, e.g. UC, UC 2 , ThC, ThC 2 or UO 2 , either singly or in combination with various other elements such as ZrC or carbon, is granulated into spherical particles using a polymerizable monomer such as acrylonitrile as a binder. The granulating may be performed on an eccentrically rotating sieve.
