Abstract

1,073,739. Bending; forging; stamping; perforating. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Oct. 27, 1964 [Nov. 13, 1963], No. 43846/64. Headings B3E, B3H, B3Q and B3W. [Also in Division H1] The working fluid in an electrohydraulic spark discharge system (see Division H1), comprising apparatus producing a high-energy pressure wave in a fluid for the working of metals, is a dielectric -liquid containing substantially insoluble electrically conducting particulate solids, preferably metallic. The prior use of water or hydrocarbon oil as the dielectric liquid and of aqueous salt solution as the working fluid is referred to. The working fluid may be circulated by a pump. Reference is made to the bending, forging and perforating of metals.
