1,073,649. Stove hot plates. A. SCHWARZ, [trading as SIRIUS - HERDPLATTENFABRIK AUGUST SCHWARZ KOMM. GES.]. Oct. 2, 1964 [Oct. 7, 1963], No. 40207/64. Heading F4W. A stove plate 1 with one or more removable fire-covers 3 has each fire-hole 2 to be closed by a cover 3 provided with a grooved bearing 8 along one side, for the cover 3 to stand up in. The bearing 8 may be made from a single acuteangled angle iron 12 welded to the underside of plate 1. The steel or cast-iron cover 2 is formed with a chamfer 16 and the bearing 8 with one or more notches to more securely hold the cover 3 in the open position. In another embodiment (Fig. 4) transverse rods (17) in the bearing hold the cover in the open position. Alternatively (Fig. 2) the grooved bearing is formed from a flat bar (9) and an angle-iron (10).
