Abstract

A fishing float comprises a buoyant body having a tail piece flexibly connected to the body by a nylon cord. The tail piece has eyelets at either end through which the fishing line is threaded and the eyelets are in staggered relationship circumferentially of the tail piece whereby the line has frictional engagement with the tail piece to resist its passage through the eyelets. A stop on the line limits the movement of the float towards the hook and it is stated that, after casting, the float moves along the slack line to the surface but is then frictionally held on the line after the slack has been drawn in. In an embodiment, the tail piece is curved and has a hollow interior through which the line passes.
