Abstract

Novel isophthalic acid derivatives of formula <FORM:1071198/C2/1> wherein either both of the groups R1 and R2 are C1-C6 alkoxy radicals or one of them is the group -NR5R6 where R5 and R6 together wit the N-atom form a heterocyclic ring, R4 is an alkenyl radical which may be substituted by at least one alkyl group, and R3 is an alkanoyloxy group, are prepared by acylating the corresponding 4-hydroxy-isophthalic acid derivative.
