Abstract

The invention provides water-soluble reactive azo-diazine dyes which contain at least one group of formula <FORM:1071041/C4-C5/1> in which one X is a halogen atom and the others are halogen atoms or are substituted or unsubstituted amino groups. The dyes may be azo, anthraquinone or phthalocyanine dyes, and may be prepared by coupling the diazo derivative of an aromatic primary amine with barbituric acid and reacting the products with phosphorus oxychloride, the dyestuff product may then be reacted with ammonia or an amine such that at least one halogen atom remains in the group as above. Red-blue shades are obtained on cellulosic materials.ALSO:Water-soluble reactive dyes which contain at least one group of the formula <FORM:1071041/D1-D2/1> in which one X is a halogen atom and the others are halogen atoms or are substituted or unsubstituted amino groups are used to dye cellulosic materials. Normal padding or printing processes in presence of acid removing agents followed by steaming or dry-heat fixing at temperatures of 120-160 DEG C are employed.
