Abstract

1,070,776. Data transmission. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Jan. 28, 1966 [Oct. 28, 1964], No. 43977/64. Heading H4P. In a data transmission system having automatic repetition of data incorrectly received, the repeated data is preceded by a group of synchronizing digits, and the pattern of the sync. digits is chosen in dependence on the address of the receiver with which the transmitter is to communicate. The system is described as a modification of the system described in Specification 1,032,032. The sync. group comprises four six-bit characters, the last character indicating the ordinal number of the message. The remaining three characters are set up in accordance with the setting of a rotary switch to a pattern which is recognizable by the chosen receiver.
