Abstract
1,070,738. Developing electrophotographic images. L.F.W. LAWES, N G. SHREEVE and N. MIHALIK. Nov. 29, 1965 [Dec. 3, 1964], No. 49193/64. Heading G2H. An apparatus for developing electrophotographic images has a storage hopper 1 with an opening 2a the size of which can be varied by a solenoid actuated slide 2 to vary the rate of discharge of developer. Developer is returned to the hopper by rotating blades 9. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown) a storage hopper has three compartments (30) which can be rotated into operative position. Each compartment has a gate (34) for varying the rate of discharge of developer which may be differently coloured in different compartments. The blade 9, Fig. 1, may be modified as described with reference to Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown).
