Abstract

Linear quinacridone in the gamma crystal phase is prepared by dissolving crude dihydroquinacridone in sulphuric acid, precipitating it with water, and oxidizing the a -dihydroquinacridone thus obtained in the form of an aqueous paste or very fine dry powder. The granule size of the dihydroquinacridone preferably has an upper limit of about 1 micron. The oxidization may be by m-nitrobenzenesodium sulphonate. missing page 248
