Abstract
1,069,916. Valves. FAIREY ENGINEERING Ltd. Nov. 13, 1964 [Nov. 14, 1963], No. 45082/63. Heading F2V. An hydraulic control valve comprises an annular-shaped slide valve member 22 which is movable radially in any direction parallel to platen surfaces 13 and 14 by an operating mechanism 29. The member 22 is located in a cylindrical aperture 20 in an annular member 15 between the platen members 11 and 12. The platen member 12 is formed with a high-pressure inlet socket (67), Fig. 2 (not shown), and lowpressure outlet socket (68), Fig. 4 (not shown), which respectively connect with chambers formed on the outside and inside of the slide member 22. At least one of the platens 11 or 12 is formed with sets of ports (54), (55) communicating with sockets 57 and (58), Fig. 2, leading to hydraulic actuators (60), (61), and in the central position of the slide member 22, in which the axis of the mechanism 29 is normal to the surfaces 13 14, the annular faces 24 close the ports (54), (55). A rocking motion of the lever 44 of the mechanism 29 about the pivot 31 will produce a radial movement of the slide 22 which will connect one set of ports (54), (55) with the high-pressure supply and the diametrically opposite set with the low-pressure return to move the actuator (60) or (61), through the associated socket 57 and (58) and connection (59). The mechanism 29 includes a frustoconically shaped sliding sleeve 35 which is inwardly urged by a spring 36, and acts with a rim 40 to bias the lever 44 to the central position.
