Abstract
In a modification of the method of the Main Specification, wherein a current of humidified gas is propelled by the energy generated by a gas turbine engine, a metered quantity of an extinguishing gas or vapour is introduced into the current. The additional material may be introduced in gaseous or solid form and may be nitrogen, CO2 or a halogenated hydrocarbon, e.g. bromochlorodifluoromethane or dibromodifluoromethane.
