Abstract

1,067,755. Pneumatic tyres. CONTINENTAL GUMMI-WERKE A.G. Oct. 24, 1963, No. 41959/63. Heading B7C. A pneumatic tyre having a radial cord carcass is provided with a reinforcement belt 4 extending substantially over the whole axial width of the tread and formed of superposed plies 5, 6 of parallel cords and fibres, filaments or wires 9 in random arrangement, the cords and fibres 9 of the respective plies 5, 6 being embedded in the same rubberizing layers. The fibres 9 are concentrated in zones of the rubber layers adjacent the cords, i.e. in the interior of the plies 5, 6 so that the fibres 9 of the adjacent plies 5, 6 are not in contact and thus do not hinder relative shearing movements of the plies. The rubber of the layers has a hardness of 55‹ Shore. A thin rubber sheet having the thickness of zone 10 may be positioned between the plies 5, 6.
