A security vehicle having an enclosed driving cab has the windscreen and preferably the side windows protected by a vertically displaceable shield 16a, 16b preferably of metal which is lowered in runways 18 to cover the glass areas in the event of an attack. The shield may be provided with a small opening protected by bullet-proof glass to allow partial vision by the driver.
