Abstract

1,065,095. Chucks. K. G. B. VON WAHLSTATT, [trading as BAYERISCHES LEICHTMETALLWERK KOMM. GES.]. Dec. 3, 1963 [Sept. 11, 1963], No. 47781/63. Heading B3B. A chuck for holding a bevel gear 5 comprises projections 3 for engaging tooth spaces in the gear, the projections being such as to engage the sides only of a tooth as shown in Fig. 4. The teeth 3 are formed on a member 2 centralized by screws 4 in a body 1 secured to a faceplate by screws 12. The gear is clamped by levers 6 pivoted to a support 7 moved by an hydraulically-operated draw-spindle 10. When the gear is released, the levers 6 are swung clear by springs 14. The body 1 may have a conical inner surface.
