Abstract

1,063,992. Automatic exchange equipment. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Feb. 24, 1964 [April 26, 1963], No. 16534/63. Heading H4K. A circuit for determining whether a bi-stable circuit BS1 is set in the same condition as a bi-stable circuit BS2, which circuit is employed in an exchange system to compare the identity of incoming junctions with the identity of junctions stored in a register, comprises gates COM A and COM B connected such that if the bi-stable circuits are in one state they extend voltage to COM A and if in the other state they extend voltage to COM B, the gates being pulseplus-bias gates biased by the outputs of BS2 and pulsed when the outputs of BS1 are connected up by switches S1, S2. If the bi-stables are in the condition with their lefthand sections A active output is produced from COM A and if the right-hand sections B are active output is produced from COM B. In either event the output is taken to a common lead Pay. The pulse-plus-bias gate COM A is shown in Fig. 2, a positive bias on Ol1<SP>1</SP> from BS2 raising the junction x to a small negative value so that a pulse on Ol1 from BS1 causes rectifier D1 to conduct. A capacitor C1 decouples BS1 from BS2 while a rectifier D2 prevents the capacitor discharging back into BS2.
