Abstract

1,062,305. Housing piglets. J. P. BLACKLEDGE. Feb. 23, 1966 [March 3, 1965], No. 9050/65. Heading A1M. A housing for piglets comprises a main outer enclosure having an exit 18 at or adjacent one end thereof and a nest or sleeping box 20 slidably disposed within the main enclosure and having one open end facing the closed end of the enclosure, the nest or sleeping box having an opening 25 in its closed end through which the piglets can gain access to the main enclosure. A further opening 26 is provided in a side wall of the box 20 and the roof of the box terminates short of the open end of the box to provide for easy access. The floor of the main enclosure is partially slatted as at 16 and the enclosure is supported on skids 19. The roof 13 of the main enclosure is slidably engaged with the side walls 11, 11a of the enclosure.
