Abstract

l - a - (Pyrrolidinomethyl) - valerophenone and its acid addition salts are prepared by forming an acid addition salt of the racemic base with an optically active acid and isolating the diastereoisomeric salt of the l-base, and, if desired, converting this into the free l-base or into another acid addition salt thereof. Pharmaceutical preparations (e.g. tablets, dragees, capsules, suppositories, solutions, suspensions or emulsions) contain the aforesaid l-base, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in admixture or conjunction with a carrier. They possess stimulant properties.
