[Also in Division G5] A book-like device suitable for teaching children arithmetic comprises cover members 10, 11 and leaf members 13 . . . 17 of paper, cardboard, or plastics material, all bound together by a plastic or wire binder 12, each leaf member comprising several independent sheets, side-by-side, and independently pivotal about the binder 12. As shown, the member 13 comprises six sheets each marked with the fraction <SP>1</SP>/ 6 , the member 14 comprises three sheets each marked <SP>1</SP>/ 3 , and the cover 11 is marked to provide twelve equal parts and each is marked <SP>1</SP>/ 12 . The members 15, 16, 17 are unmarked and comprise sheets large enough to mask the sheets beneath them. In modifications, the sheets are marked with other fractions, or decimals, or words, or pictures.
