Abstract

1,061,359. Oven linings. TAPPAN CO. Nov. 30, 1965 [July 9, 1965], No. 50799/65. Heading F4W. A spatter shield 32 for the top wall (11) Fig. 1 (not shown) of an oven cavity (10) having an upper sheathed electric heating element 18, comprising a generally rectangular sheet of heat resistant material having an area at least as large as that of the element disposed above and attached to said heating element by a plurality of non-conductive thermally insulative support members 39-42, said support members being arranged to preclude sliding movement of the sheet when it is resting on the element. The support members engage a convoluted heating element at both straight and curved sections thereof. At least four of these supports are arranged in the corner regions of the screen.
