Abstract

Lead pellets are formed by allowing molten lead to fall as drops through 1/2 to 6 inches into a cooling bath of a diether of a glycol. The drops are formed by a nipple having a V-notch, the outlet from which is adjusted by a screw. The diether of a glycol may have the general formula: R-(OCH2CH2)nOR1 where n is a whole number and R and R1 are alkyl radicals
