Abstract
The invention comprises a method of isolating steroids from culture fluids by adsorption on a large-pore highly-swelling cation-exchange resin obtained by sulphonating a copolymer of styrene and 1,3-butadiene, and eluting the steroid therefrom with an organic solvent. Steroids specified are 11-epihydrocortisone, hydrocortisone, prednisolone, prednisone, D 1-17a - methyl - testosterone and 1,4-androstadiene-3,17-dione.
