Abstract

1,059,721. Time switches. EASTMAN KODAK CO. Feb. 5, 1964 [Jan. 23, 1963], No 2816/63. Heading H2B. An electric timer motor drives a shaft via gearing and a clutch such that when the motor is de-energized the shaft is free to rotate, under action of a spiral spring, back to its starting position which is determined by a fixed stop being engaged by a projection on the periphery of a disc mounted on the shaft. The disc also carries on or near its periphery timing indicia and a further projection which engages a bell crank to actuate a two-position switch when the disc has been rotated for a time equal to, or somewhat greater than, the maximum marked on its periphery. This switch is in the circuit of the motor and is closed by manual operation of a retractive lever of a photographic copying apparatus with which the timer is associated. This lever also operates a series micro-switch which breaks the motor circuit only while the lever is in the operated position. Thus successive operations at intervals less than the maximum marked on the timer disc cause the micro-switch to momentarily de-energize the motor and allow the disc to return to its starting position and recommence a timing run. After a final run of a sequence the lever is not operated and the disc therefore rotates until it restores the twoposition switch which leaves the motor in a de-energized condition.
