Abstract

The invention comprises 3,31-methylenebisthiazolidine and a method for the preparation thereof by reacting formaldehyde and an acid salt of 2-mercaptoethylamine in the ratio of at least 1.5 moles of formaldehyde per mole of the 2-mercapto-ethylamine salt. The reaction is preferably effected in an aqueous medium.ALSO:3,3\sv-methylenelisthiazolidine, a new compound, is stated to be a fungicide which may be applied in aqueous suspension.
