Abstract
1,059,392. Frequency demodulation. G. BATTAIL, and P. BROSSARD. June 1, 1964 [Jan. 21, 1964], No. 22557/64. Addition to 960,807. Heading H3A. In a modification of the demodulator for frequency-modulated signals described in the parent Specification, the output of the local oscillator 35, frequency modulated by an estimate of the modulating signal and the delayed received signal obtained via delay unit 20 are applied to a first mixer 43 which derives a difference signal which is applied via a narrow pass-band filter 45 to a second mixer 490 to which the output from local oscillator 35 is also applied via a filter 470 and the output of the second mixer is applied via a further filter 491 to a frequency discriminator 460 which supplies output terminal 102. If the local oscillator signal is chosen lower in frequency than the received signal the local oscillator signal and the difference signal are added in the second mixer to provide an output signal to discriminator 460 equal in frequency to the received signal. The filter 470 is chosen to have a delay time equal to that of filter 45.
