Abstract

1,058,864. Smoker's lighter. H. ZAHN. Sept. 14, 1965 [Oct. 2, 1964], No. 39083/65. Heading F4F. A smoker's lighter has an extinguishing cap carrier 2 and a press lever 7 connected by two studs 10 extending inwardly from side walls of the carrier and engaging holes 11 provided in the side walls of the carrier. Grooves 12 having a gradually decreasing depth are provided externally in the carrier walls for guiding the studs during assembly whereby snap-action entry of the studs into the holes is achieved. The carrier 2 is adapted to pivot about the same axis as a friction wheel 4, Fig. 1 (not shown), and the press lever is supported from the lighter housing by means of a strut and acted upon by a closure spring. The studs may be in the form of steel rivets treated to be invisible from the outside of the press lever.
