Abstract
1,057,313. Furnace recuperators. INDUSTRIE - COMPANIE KLEINEWEFERS KONSTRUKTIONS - UND HANDELS G.m.b.H. Sept. 11, 1963 [Nov. 20, 1962], No. 35798/63. Heading F4S. In a method of constructing a heat recuperator of the kind in which recuperator tubes are disposed in a heating-gas duct, the tubes after being assembled in the duct and before the recuperator is put into use, are exposed to an oxidizing gas of controlled composition to cause a layer of an oxide such as chromium oxide, to be formed on the tube surfaces. The inner and outer tube surfaces may be simultaneously treated by an oxidizing gas.
