Abstract
105,616. Jager, G. H., (Jager, B. M.). April 20, 1916. Ventilating.-In a boot of the kind in which spacing-pieces between an inner sole and the main sole form a chamber leading to a duct at the back of the boot, the spacing-pieces a comprise pillars of indiarubber and are evenly spaced and distributed over the entire soles. The pillars, which are preferably conical in shape and arranged in staggered fashion, may be cemented or otherwise secured to either sole, but they are preferably formed in one with the inner sole. The duct b may be arranged inside the boot, as shown, but is preferably arranged on the outside and covered with leather or composition &c. to protect it. In a modified construction, a second duct may be arranged to extend through the chamber to a point near the toe of the boot.
