Abstract

1,055,960. Mats. NUWAY MANUFACTURING CO. Ltd. Dec. 2, 1965 [Dec. 24, 1964], No. 52402/64. Heading A4S. A mat comprises alternate strips of extruded aluminium or aluminium alloy and of rubber &c. held together by U-shape wires which pass through apertures in the strips, the end strips being of C-section metal forming outwardly directed channels with a restricted entry formed by lips parallel to the base of the channel. The bight of each wire is received in one channel and the free ends in the other, the ends being twisted to resiliently engage between a lip and the base of the channel. The intermediate metal strips are of T-section and may be replaced by plastic ribs or spacers and the rubber strips have a buffed surface and extend proud of the metal strips. The lips of the end strips have flat faces for fitment in a well.
