Abstract

1,055,609. Measuring fluid flow. FITCHBURG PAPER CO. Oct. 27, 1965 [Oct. 30, 1964], No. 45522/65. Heading G1R. In a meter for determining the velocity of a liquid stream, such as paper pulp, a disc 20 is rotated by the stream 18 and is mounted on a shaft supported in spring loaded jewelled bearings and the speed of rotation of the disc is determined by a light source and a light sensitive device mounted in a housing 50 and co-operating with an electronic counter or encoder and a series of equally spaced circumferentially spaced reflective strips provided on the shaft on which the disc 20 is mounted.
