Abstract

1,055,439. Adjustable balance spring for a pick-up arm. BSR Ltd. Oct. 19, 1964 [Oct 19, 1963], No. 41392/63. Heading G5R. The balance spring 18 of a pick-up arm is in threaded engagement with a nut 21 so that rotation of the nut causes the coils of the spring to pass axially through the nut so as to extend or contract the effective operative portion of the spring and thereby adjust stylus pressure. In Fig. 1 the nut is held with one face pressed against a slotted partition 20 provided in a channel portion 14 of the pick-up arm. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the partition member is a separate piece detachably held in the channel member, e.g. by side flanges sliding into slots in the channel member.
