In a card store as disclosed in Specification 969,323, the card extractor gripper is positioned to select a card by means of two parallel lines of fluid operated piston and cylinder devices, one end of one line being fixed, the same end of the other line being freely movable and the other ends of the lines being rigidly connected. The extractor gripper is reciprocated by a cam mechanism. The positioning of the gripper carrier is effected in co-operation with a toothed rack to avoid errors in positioning.
