Abstract

1,054,253. Silver salt diffusion transfer processes. GEVAERT PHOTO-PRODUCTEN N.V. Aug.6, 1963 [Aug. 3, 1962], No.30989/63. Addition to 1, 042, 477. Heading G2C. A silver salt diffusion transfer process according to parent Specification wherein the silver halide emulsion layer is coated with a water-permeable layer so that on contacting the emulsion with transfer layer in the presence of the alkaline solution at least some of waterpermeable layer is transferred to the transfer layer. The water-permeable layer may have a binder of a cellulose or starch ether, starch, sodium alginate, gum tragacanth, polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, polyoxyethylene, polyacrylic acid or amide or a methyl vinyl ether/ maleic acid copolymer and may contain the pyrazolidone developer. The image-receiving material may consist of two layers, the top layer containing a filler and a binding agent as disclosed in Specification 1,054,252.
