[Also in Division F2] In order to facilitate the moulding of a friction pad material 24 to a metal re-inforcement plate 21 for use in a disc brake (see Division F2), the two sections 31, 32 of a mould are formed with holes 30 and the plate is formed with holes 33 which improve the binding between a wearing layer of the friction pad and the plate 21. A reinforcing wire-gauze or mesh element may be embedded in the pad of friction material (Fig. 8, not shown). Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 953,520.
