Abstract
1,053,399. Reglet for buildings. E. T. BERG. July 8, 1965 [Sept. 8, 1964], No. 29021/65. Heading E1W. An extruded reglet intented to be embedded in a concrete wall for holding flashings and window frames comprises a bracket or lip portion 16 for attachment to shuttering, a channel portion 10 for reception of the flashing, and integral with the channel flanges a detachable strip 22 which closes the channel mouth during the construction of the wall against the shuttering and around the reglet. The strip 22 is defined by longitudinally extending score lines 24, 26. The bracket 16 and the mouth of the channel lie in an arched plane the concave side of which is applied against the shuttering. Nails driven through the bracket portion 16 into the shuttering deform the arched form to a flat form causing pressure of the upper channel edge 32 and lower edge 40 of the bracket portion against the shuttering to exclude concrete from the front face of the reglet. The reglet is positively retained in the finished structure by formations 48, 52. The reglet may be of metal or plastics.
