Abstract

105,318. Holth, S. C. Anker-. Jan. 2, 1917. Density separators.-The full milk is distributed over the conical disks 10 by curved vanes 13 on the hollow hub 4, for which spaces are provided in the disks 10. These vanes have their concave rear surface facing inward toward the axial centre, and rearward in respect to the direction of rotation. A sediment chamber 24 is provided. Skim-milk is forced out through openings 20, 27, 29. Cream forces itself against the rear of the vanes 10 and down grooves formed between these vanes and the hub, and passes over the edges of the adjustable screw outlet 18. If this outlet becomes stopped, or if the screw is adjusted inwards too far, the cream then passes out of the safety openings 16. Specification 11744/09 is referred to.
