Abstract
1,052,726. Space heating unit. H. HOLLESENS FABRIKKER A.S. April 29, 1965 [April 30, 1964 (2)], No. 18103/65. Heading F4S. A space heating unit comprises a pipe or pipes 3 in which a heating fluid is circulated and to which is welded or otherwise secured a series of juxtaposed secondary-surface heatemitting members 7. Each member 7 has an inner flange 8, in which are pressed-out projections 26 adapted to be welded to the pipes 3, and an outer flange 10. The flanges 10 in combination with corresponding flanges on end members 73, 22 together form an unbroken heat radiating surface behind which passages 12 are formed in which air is warmed and circulated therethrough by convection. The manner of securing the pipes to the projections is illustrated in Fig. 5 (not shown), the pipes being seated in troughs or channels of the projections 26 and welded using electrodes at 32, 32 or 33, 33. The projections 26 are partially punched out leaving apertures 29, Fig. 4 (not shown), through which air is drawn, which mixes with the warm air in the passages 12. Further air is drawn through apertures 34, Fig. 3 (not shown), formed in the heat radiating surface.
