Abstract
1,052,680. Hydraulic shock absorbers. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. Oct. 2, 1964 [Oct. 4. l963], No. 40127/64. Heading F2S. An hydraulic shock absorber comprises a piston 5 reciprocable within a cylinder 2, the piston rod 4 projecting through a first bearing bush 18 and a second bearing bush 19 which closely surrounds the piston rod. The second bush 19 is urged outwardly of the cylinder 2 towards the first bush 18 as by a spring 20, a ring 26 being mounted between the bushes. The ring abuts and moves radially relative to the first bush and forms with the second bush a bell joint. The assembly of the bushes 18. 19 and the ring 26 form a one-way valve to allow hydraulic fluid to flow from the chamber 10 to the working chamber 6 of the shock absorber. The piston 5 and a base-plate 3 are provided with pre-streased one-way valves 8, 9 respectively, the latter being provided with a further spring-pressed non-return valve 11. The first bush 18 is formed with passages 18<SP>1</SP>.
