Abstract

1,052,276. Windscreen wiper squeegee. TRICO PRODUCTS CORPORATION. Sept. 7, 1963 [Oct. 3, 1962], No. 38214/63. Heading A4F. A sqeegee for a windscreen wiper comprises an anchoring head 42 (Figs. 5 and 6, not shown) and a head portion 44 from which project a pair of wiping lips 52a, 52b, the head portion being formed by sections 44a, 44b separable along a longitudinal plane lying between the wiping lips. This formation increases the resistance of the windscreen wiper to being lifted off the screen by wind lift. A neck 46 on the squeegee engages a slot in a flexible backing strip and the whole is engaged in a pressure distributing harness having a clip for securing the assembly to a wiper arm. The squeegee may be formed in two sections placed side by side separable along a longitudinal plane between the wiping lips and the sections may be moulded from a single strip of rubber. The upper surface of the head portion may be of arcuate cross-section.
