Abstract

1,052,217. Balancing wheels. DIONYS HOFMANN G.m.b.H. Nov. 20, 1963 [Jan. 30, 1963], No. 45749/63. Heading B7C. [Also in Divisions B8 and G1] Balance weights 3 are stacked to form a pack which is introduced into an automatic machine for balancing vehicle wheels, the weights being subsequently withdrawn individually from the pack in the machine for attachment to wheels to be balanced by means of an applying device 7-10 (Fig. 3, not shown). The weights may be formed with through holes 4 to enable them to be threaded on retaining rods 1, on which they are held by a locking device 20. The weights 3 are each formed with a groove 5 to receive a spring which retains the weight on a vehicle wheel. The locking device 20 is removed before the pack is inserte in the balancing machine, and the rods 1 may also be removed if required. In an alternative embodiment (Figs. 7-9, not shown), the weights have projections and co-operating recesses to that they may be stacked and held by a spring clamp.
