Abstract

A rotary viscosimeter comprises a member 5 rotated within a cylinder 6 depending into a vessel containing the test liquid. The member 5 is rotated by an electric motor 1 through an eight-speed gear change mechanism 2, 27 and resistance to rotation of the member reacts on the body of the motor to turn it against the resistance of an adjustable torsion spring 11. The motor body is connected to lever mechanism which multiplies the movement finally shown by a pointer 17. The member 5 may be stationary and the cylinder 6 rotated.
