Abstract

1,051,152. Ladders. H. C. SLINGSBY Ltd. and J. F. SLINGSBY. March 21, 1963 [Dec. 21, 1961], No. 45803/61. Heading A6L. The sections 1, 4 of an extension ladder are connected together by and slide on one another by means of guides 6 of dumb-bell crosssection fitting in grooves of rounded crosssection in the ladder sides. The upper guides are fixed to the lower section and the lower guides to the upper section. The rungs are of aluminium tube. The rungs 3, Fig. 5 may be surrounded by a tread 10 of rhomb crosssection the ends of which fit in grooves 12 in the sides 2. An endless cord runs round pulleys on the lower section and is fixed to the upper section.
