Abstract

1,050,975. Container closures. MANUFACTURE BELGE DE LAMPES ET DE MATERIEL ELECTRONIQUE S.A. Sept. 6, 1963 [Sept. 10, 1962], No. 35292/63. Heading B8T. [Also in Divisions E2 and H5] A container, e.g. for a radiation dosimeter, comprises an envelope permeable to ionising radiation and opaque to visible light provided with an aperture and a closure member for the aperture, the closure member being opaque to visible light, the container also includes locking means for locking the closure member in the envelopes and comprises the combination of a slide member and a pivotable catch arranged in the envelope, the catch being provided for engaging the slide member and the inner wall of the envelope so that sliding the slide member in first and second directions causes the catch to pivot and thus secure or release the closure member respectively. The slide member is displaced by use of a tool comprising a pin having a thickened portion of square cross-section at one end which tapers to a point, the tool being used to pierce a thin wall provided at one end of the envelope and thereafter inserted to engage an aperture of square cross-section provided in the slide member.
