Abstract

1,050,716. Anti-theft devices for motor vehicles. BRITAX (LONDON) Ltd. Jan. 1. 1965 [Jan. 3, 1964], No. 82/65. Heading B7J An anti-theft device for motor vehicles comprises a cylinder lock 2 disposed in a casing 1 and having a control cam 3 thereon with a surface 4 for operating a slide 5 joined to a locking bolt 13, and a locking lever 11 rotatably mounted at 10 to the slide 5 so that it engages one side of the tip of the key 8 when the device is unlocked. The end 6 of the cam 3 engages in an ignition switch 7. The slide 5 is biased by a spring 9 into the locked position of the bolt 13, and is retained in the unlocked position by the engagement of the lever 11 with the key 8. The lever 11 is urged by a spring 14, Fig. 5 (not shown), until its stop surface 15 lies against a nose 16 of the slide 5. A fastening pin 17, Fig. 3 (not shown), is mounted in the cam 3 and is urged by a spring against an edge of the slide, so that on withdrawal of the key, the pin 17 moves over a curved face 20 and drops behind a stop 18 of the slide 5. The curved face 20 may also be of sawtooth shape.
