Abstract
1,050,309. Transformers. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. May 17, 1965 [May 20, 19641, No. 20737/65. The U-shaped core parts 1 of a transformer or a choke coil are held together by a metallic clamping band 5, 7, the portions of the band parallel to the direction of compression being subject to tensile stress and the portions at right-angles being subject to bending stress, and the overlapping portions 9 of the band parts 5, 7 being secured together by spot welding. The band 5, 7 may also be spot welded to the core parts 1. A mounting clasp 11 may be spotwelded to the clamping band and an insulating terminal plate 13 may be secured to the clamping band by fastening tongues 17.
