Abstract
1,050,174. Door chimes. V. & E. FRIEDLAND Ltd. May 28, 1965 [June 23, 1964], No. 25968/64. Heading G5J. In the door chimes shown, two tone bars 23, 24 are mounted respectively in resonant chambers 18, 19 formed by the lid the base 13 and a central partition 14. The central partition carries a solenoid 29 which actuates a spring- loaded plunger 36 to strike the left-hand tone bar when the solenoid is energized and the right-hand when it is released. The lid is provided with two narrow slots 21, one for each resonant chamber, with internal deflectors which may face in one direction or the other and may be differently coloured from the rest of the housing so as to appear decorative. The ends of the plunger are nylon tipped. Further holes 42 for the egress of sound are provided in the sides of the lid. Latches on the ends of the central partition co-operate with noses on the cover to hold it in position.
