A pair of spectacles with metal lens rims 1 and a metal bridge 4 is provided with browpieces 6, each having a groove 7 to engage the top of the rim 1, a recess 11 to engage the bridge 4 and an appendage 12 for mounting a nose-pad. Each browpiece has a side arm 15 and is attached to the lens rim by a screw 25 which may pass through a hinge piece 17 having a slot 25 and engage a threaded extension 10 of the lens rim.
