Abstract

1,048,872. Cooling aircraft. JUNKERSFLUGZEUGUND MOTORENWERKE A.G. Jan. 6, 1964 [Jan. 30, 1963], No. 599/64. Headings B7G and B7W. Fuel, e.g. liquid hydrogen, oxygen, fluorine, or ammonia, is led to a heated region of the outer skin of an aircraft or spacecraft, to absorb heat. Fuel is led through cooling ducts in passages on the inside of the wing leading edge skin and thence discharged through orientatable attitude-control nozzles at the wing tips. After use as a coolant, the fuel may alternatively be used to power auxiliary services.
