Abstract

Book signatures are stitched together (see Division B6) using a thread made up of a mixture of textile and heat-sealable synthetic resin fibres or only heat-sealable synthetic resin fibres having different softening or melting points. The two types of fibres may be spun or twisted together in a random array or formed separately into threads which are then spun or twisted around one another in any desired manner. The mixed thread may consist of a single thread of heat-sealable fibres having a plurality of textile threads spun, twisted, or braided around it, or vice versa.
