Abstract

Improvements in elastic yarns, characterized by comprising a low twist, multi-fiber strand, made up of a multiplicity of fibers of variable sizes, with the separated fibers freely arranged therein; an elastomeric yarn and a high resistance continuous line; the multi-fiber strand and the elastomeric thread are arranged and graduated in the composite strand in such a way that in a contracted state of the elastomeric strand, the multi-stranded strand fibers can only be freely associated with said elastomeric strand, and the separate fibers of varying lengths of the multi-fiber strand are freely associated with each other; the high strength rope, the elastomeric thread and the multi-fiber rope are arranged and graduated in the composite strand in such a way that in the expanded state of the elastomeric thread, the fibers of the multi-fiber rope can be pressed relatively together, against the elastomeric thread along the length of the multi-fiber strand.
