In a friction clutch wherein two friction-lined driven discs 16, 18 and an interposed presser plate 12 are normally gripped, for clutch engagement, between an engine flywheel 10-and a presser plate 14 loaded by springs 60, a clutch cover 32 bolted to the flywheel and pivotally supporting clutch-release levers 30 is stamped from a sheetmetal blank and has leg portions 50 which comprise bolting flanges 56 and strengthening ribs providing recesses 62 accommodating with axial freedom, drive lugs 64 on the interposed presser plate 12. Cover gaps between the legs 50 expose the presser plates and provide for ventilation and heat dissipation. Blade springs 44 riveted to the plate 12 centre the latter between the flywheel and the plate 14.
